Fukutake Former Residence
This mansion was the residence of a large village headman, and on its 4,300 square meters site stands a magnificent two-story irimoya-style mansion with a stunning garden.
The date of construction is unknown, but it is thought to have been towards the end of the Edo period.
It has a serene appearance in the Sukiya-style style, with a five living rooms, a middle room, an antechamber room and a sitting room facing the garden.
It is only open to the public on an irregular basis, and you cannot normally tour the inside, but you can see the moat that surrounds the mansion with its loopholes and the size of the mansion from the outside.
